How Coaching Works

Coaching sessions are conveniently and confidentially held on the phone, once a week for three weeks each month. Coaching isn’t therapy, which primarily focuses on helping people resolve issues from the past.

Coaching is an exciting, enriching experience. It’s about who you are today, who you want to be tomorrow and how you want to live your life. And it’s fun.

I ask my clients for a three-month commitment because it takes time for lasting growth and development, time to create the life you envision.

Although our coaching conversations are weekly, I am your coach 24/7. Coaching continues beyond the scheduled calls:

 Homework
Taking actions promised during the coaching session
Increasing scores on programs like “What You’re Putting Up With is Holding You Back.”
 Reading and studying
 Emergency calls/emails
 Success calls/emails
 Support system
 Buddy system

Dr. Dee

After my diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis I felt very alone and was riddled with guilt. I didn’t know how it would change my family’s lives.  The guilt was tremendous and I felt as though my family shouldn’t have to endure this, they didn’t choose to have these changes in their lives.

I didn’t know how I was going to go forward feeling the guilt, frustration and sadness that accompany this kind of a diagnosis. I knew I could do it if I was by myself, but to put my family through this was unfathomable, after all it wasn’t their fault.

About 5 months after my diagnosis someone asked me if I knew what a life coach was, I said no and I was told that a life coach helps you realize what you want based on your own thoughts and feelings, very similar to a counselor but at the same time very different. I called Coach Kite and began my weekly phone calls to her.  She had me set goals and make a list of things that I wanted to work on. She gave me homework and that made me really think and explore how I felt.

I have learned so much from Coach Kite, but the most important thing she helped me with was how to deal with my guilt. I told her that my family didn’t choose this…and her reply was …”You didn’t  just go to a store in the mall and say, today I would like a healthy dose of MS.” Immediately a light bulb went on in my head, I didn’t choose this either, it just happened! Coach Kite’s analogy was completely logical and I understood it and through continued chats I was able to conquer the guilty feelings as well as learn how to handle the daily stressors in my life. Yes, at times I “relapse”, but Coach Kite taught me strategies to squash it when it creeps up on me.

I absolutely adore Coach Kite and the fact that she has walked a mile in my shoes has made all the difference in truly understanding how I feel, which allows me to live my best life. My family and I deserve that!!
